Report on State Agencies: ANRU in the Sights of Senators, “Pure Madness” for Borloo

In its conclusions, made public this Thursday, the Senate inquiry committee proposed not renewing the National Agency for Urban Renewal. Jean-Louis Borloo, its founder, emphasized its crucial role in transforming neighborhoods and the economic benefits for the state.
By Matthieu PelloliThe Senate's commission of inquiry, which deplored, on Thursday, July 3, the State's "lack of a consolidated vision" of the financial situation of its agencies and operators, also threw a spanner in the works. Its report, which submits some sixty recommendations , proposes in particular not to renew the National Agency for Urban Renewal (ANRU), once the implementation of the new urban renewal program set by the State has been implemented.
ANRU, a public industrial and commercial establishment (Epic) created in 2003 by Jean-Louis Borloo , the then Minister Delegate for Urban Affairs, finances and supports the transformation of urban policy districts throughout France. The rapporteurs suggest instead gradually transferring the management of the completion of these programs to the prefectures.
